Searching for volunteering opportunities
There are several great websites for community service and volunteering opportunity searches. Here is a partial list. If you have used any of these, please share your experience or advice:
you can search for volunteering opportunities by zip code, mostly US focused but also has virtual volunteering opportunities, e.g. graphics design, website design. They have a great email based alert system but you may start getting emails more frequently than you intended to. So make sure your profile is very precise and complete if you decide to use this feature. Overall, VolunteerMatch has great coverage, the listings are fresh and is a hub for non profits and volunteers alike. It makes volunteering a breeze
